We have started converting all of our
imaged documents (other than Well Logs) to “searchable” PDF files. This will
allow you to search for words in the PDF file and let you jump to where that
word is in the document. This is a feature of the Adobe Reader when you have
text with your imaged pages. For now you should see this in the new AP Orders
and Case Files as well as all of the PUD Tariff documents. It will take quite
some time to convert all our documents to be able to take advantage of this feature
but eventually they should all be converted to this type of PDF. Because of
this conversion process there may be a slight lag in the time the record shows
up in the database and the time you can actually pull up the image. If you find
you cannot open a PDF image that has just been scanned you should try it again
in a few minutes. Sometimes on large documents it takes some time to convert
and be written to the server.
